Is there a God that CARES ?
by JH ini was born with believeing parents, so automatically, i assumed that there was a god because my parents told me so.. when i was young, i prayed before going to bed and said thank-you for all that i had.. later in life, i realized that what i had came from my parents, not necessarily god.. today, i still believe in god, but i wonder if he cares.. there is something worse than no god.
it's a god that doesn't care and doesn't answer prayers.. when you look at the world as a whole, and see all the suffereing and injustice, you don't ask yourself if there is a god, you just wonder if he cares.. .

You may find this funny, but as a JW I never felt like my prayers were answered. When I stopped going to their meetings I was so angry that I stopped believing in God. It took me about 6 years to realise that I'm spiritual person and do better in all aspects of my life when I do have something bigger than me to believe in. In the last year my prayers get answered regularly. It's an amazing feeling to realise that you have asked for something and it gets given to you. Sometimes prayers are asnswered in very strange ways and only when you reflect on whats happened do you realise that it was indeed devine intervention.
I'll just give one example so you can see what I mean. My daughter has not been well for about 18 months. Nothing major just not well, the doctor I was seeing wasn't overly concerned so I thought I was just being a paraniod mom. About two months ago I decided to pray about it and asked God for help as I knew there was somthing wrong with my little one. The following week I received a letter from my doctor saying that they will no longer be able to see our family as he was no longer on the approved list of doctors that my medical scheme will pay for. The following week my daughter was once again not feeling very well and I found a new doctor and made an appointment. He took one look at her and told me that she needed to go for blood test cause he was not happy with what he saw. To cut a long story short we discovered that she has had a thyroid problem for almost two years. I feel it was devine intervention. She is now on medication and doing much better.
Don't give up on God just because the JW's let you down.

Are Faders "better" than DF'd or DA'd?
by ESTEE inthis is something i've been mulling over.
just would like to hear opinions as to whether faders, or inactive ones think they are superior to disfellowshipped or disassociated ones?
what is your experience with this?
-
Mrs Smith
I think we should leave those kind of superiority games to active JW's and politicians. The rest of us are just trying to make a bit of sense out of our JW experience. It's good to be out, how you got here doesn't matter. The best advice I got when I posted the question "to da or not to da?" was why play by their rules?

If Armageddon is around the corner, why would the jw's get involved with this project. Isn't the whole earth going to be a beautiful paradise soon??????????? Why get involved with "Local Govenment"?

Should I DA myself or not?
by Mrs Smith inthis is my first post, some of you have read my hubby's story - agent smith - anyway i was just wondering if i should write a letter to disassociate myself or just leave things as they are.
i have not been to meetings for about 8yrs but have only just come to realize what a load of rubbish the jw's teach.
now that i have read "crisis of conscience" i have no doubt that jw's are corrupt.

Thanks for all the messages. I will leave things as they are for now, never know what will happen in the future. My mom is a full time pioneer, poor thing. She still lives in hope that I will one day go back and that's why she hasn't shunned me. I just avoid talking about it with her.
The one day she was carring on about going back when I lost it and told her all the reasons why I didn't want to. One of the things that really upset me was that there was an elder in the cong that abused his two little girls, the wife was shunned by all and has since left and remarried a great "wordling". He on the other hand is still in the borg. Goes to meetings and hands out sweets to all the little children. Makes me want to puke. But the guy has loads of money so why would they want to kick him out!? After telling my mom that story she backed off and said that she doesn't blame me for not going back but that I should not turn my back on Jehovah. That was the end of that never spoke to her about this again. Didn't make her change her mind though. My dad just goes along with my mom, I don't have a good relationship with him so I don't really care if he talks to me or not. Talk about dysfunctional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One thing I know for sure, I will never raise my kids that way and am very greatful that my son was 5 and my daughter new born when we started fading away so they don't really know the JW life.

Thanks everyone. My mom turns a blind eye to all the christian (non-jw) books in my home. Goes deaf when the kids say they go to church. So she's pretty cool about it all. Still nags me to go to meetings. At least my kids can have a relationship with her. Mr Smith parents are not that easy, they keep their dealings with us to the minimum.
